About Us

Physicians for Women is an independent medical practice specializing in women’s health. Our group provides obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) & midwifery services to women of all ages. Our physicians have been providing healthcare to women in Madison, Dane County, and surrounding area, for more than 23 years.

Physicians for Women was founded in the Madison suburb of Fitchburg in 2001 with a mission of providing excellent, individualized women’s health care with a patient-centered focus in a friendly and confidential setting. Our current clinic facility in Fitchburg was completed in October of 2005 and offers expansive exam and procedure rooms, as well as two ultrasound rooms and phlebotomy services.

Our practice emphasizes professional and personalized obstetrics, gynecology, midwifery, and general health care for women. As board-certified physicians in obstetrics and gynecology, we utilize the latest research and technologies to provide you with the best Madison has to offer. These new techniques include non-surgical techniques, minimally invasive surgery, and on-site 4-D ultrasound and phlebotomy services to evaluate your pregnancy, gynecological concerns, or other needs.

Our Philosophy

Physicians for Women strongly believes in providing quality women’s health care in a modern, friendly atmosphere. Our Madison area practice is composed of board-certified OBGYN who are up to date on the latest research, procedures, and technology. In 2014 we expanded our practice to also include midwifery services with our partner clinic, The Madison Midwives.

Our clinicians believe that as the patient you should feel comfortable with your care and know your doctor. Therefore, during your pregnancy, you will meet all of our obstetricians/gynecologists to make sure that you will feel comfortable that you are in good hands on your special day. If you will be a patient of the Madison Midwives, you will also meet with all of our lovely midwives.

Co-Payments

Co-payments are due on the date of service. Insurance cards must be presented at each appointment. Our practice accepts many forms of private health insurance. For any questions, please contact your insurance company directly or our business office at 608-227-7007.

Financial Policy

Patient balances are due in full upon receipt of a current monthly statement.

CONFIDENTIALITY

Due to the nature of the healthcare industry, privacy laws, and our respect for patients, each employee assumes an obligation to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Patient information is held confidential and only discussed with the individuals who need the information to perform their work. Each employee of Physicians for Women signs an employee statement of confidentiality form and receives training in HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996) regulations and our practices’ privacy policies.

OBSTETRICS DELIVERIES

Physicians for Women and The Madison Midwives obstetrics staff delivers primarily at UnityPoint Health-Meriter Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. Our Doctors and Midwives share a philosophy with Meriter’s Birthing Center of family-centered care that supports family closeness and encourages both parents and siblings to participate in every aspect of the birth experience.
